BAND & CORPS OF DRUMS

In 2004 Tony Thornton (Principal Clarinet of 3rd Battalion Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment) was asked by the National ACF Musical HQ to form a band for the Kent Army Cadet Force.

In his 27 years with the Royal Engineers Tony has worked with bands all over the world specialising in playing the clarinet and other instruments.

Under his direction the Kent ACF band has gone from strength to strength - parading every Tuesday evening at the TA Centre in Canterbury.

The band has taken part in the Lord Mayors Show in London a mere six months after its creation.  Since then they have performed for the Duke of Edinburgh at Sandhurst and the Duke of Kent at the opening of the new training centre in Dibgate during the summer of 2006.

The band is continually growing and constantly on the look out for new member regardless of their current ability.  Training is given at all levels.  Band cadets are expected to complete the normal syllabus up to One Star - after that they band cadet can choose to specialise in band or mix it with the normal syllabus.

For more information or to book the Band or Corps of Drums please contact the CEO.  Bookings need to be made early to allow us to prepare our paperwork and admin.
